Report: Arsenal Move To Sign Sergio Canales From Racing Santander

Arsenal have reportedly held talks with Racing Santander prodigy Sergio Canales' father - who is also his agent - over a move to England, according to the Daily Mail.

The player's father, Angel Canales, is said to have held talks with Gunners' representatives over the role that his son would play under manager Arsene Wenger.

Canales Snr is believed to have held talks with Manchester City and Spanish giants Real Madrid, while waiting to speak with Chelsea bosses as he ponders over the best possible destination for the 18-year-old to continue his footballing education.

Wenger has in the past indicated that he is in the market for a striker, but has so far maintained that nobody takes his fancy at present. However, the prospect of having a rising star in his armoury may sway 'The Professor', who is well known for moulding youngsters.

Meanwhile, the signing of veteran defender Sol Campbell could be the beginning of the end of Philippe Senderos, and Celtic are said to be keen on luring the player to Parkhead.
