Uli Hoeness: Chelsea Bid €65 Million Plus Bosingwa For Bayern's Franck Ribery Empty Uli Hoeness: Chelsea Bid €65 Million Plus Bosingwa For Bayern's Franck Ribery

Bayern Munich general manager Uli Hoeness has revealed that Chelsea made a summer offer of €65 million as well as Portugal international right-back Jose Bosingwa for forward Franck Ribery.

However, that mammoth offer did not come anywhere near the Bavarians' valuation of the player, whose price tag seems to have been set at a much higher level.

Hoeness also insisted that it was down to Bayern as to whether the player, who has apparently never asked for a move, would be allowed to leave or not.

"We never received an offer over €100 million. The best bid game from Chelsea: €65 million plus the player Bosingwa," he told German newspaper Bild.

"We also received other offers of €76 and €80 million.

"He never came to us and said he wanted to leave at any price," revealed Hoeness.

"He always said to us that he would like to move to Real Madrid, but that if we wanted to keep him, then it was not a problem.

"[Selling him] was never a real consideration.

"However, we want to create the conditions which give Franck the feeling that he can achieve something here in Munich.

"If he cannot see this potential, then he will leave. If FC Bayern says no, then Franck stays."
