Lucio: I Will Become Inter’s Leader
After settling down with his new Inter teammates, Lucio has already shown love for his new club following a recent interview with il tempo.
As the Brazilian prepares to lead from the back next season, he was asked whether Mourinho will utilise a higher defensive line following his arrival: “We are working on it and it’s certainly a solution that we could eventually adopt,” he declared.
“This is only really my first working week here with Inter and I’m still trying to understand what Mourinho’s ideas and what he wants from us. I don’t think it will be a problem adapting to whatever system he has in mind.”
The Brazilian was then asked what he thinks of his new club and whether he can become a leader in a side filled with stars. “Some people said I would find a slightly demotivated side because they have won for the past few years in Italy, instead it is the opposite. The players here are all great champions that want to keep the no.1 status in Italy and push on to win in Europe.”
“Off the field I am quite reserved, but on the field I love to talk and help my teammates. I feel at home on the pitch and I would love to become Inter’s leader one day.”
