Sunderland Table Record £15m Bid For Tottenham's Darren Bent - Report
Sunderland have supposedly tabled a club record bid for Darren Bent, the Tottenham Hotspur forward, but it still might not be enough.
The Black Cats have been linked with a move for the England man, who is on the outer at Spurs, all summer.
According to the News of the World, they have now submitted a £15 million offer, the highest in the club's history. However, Spurs are still unwilling to accept less than the £16m they spent to buy him from Charlton Athletic.
The Wearside club, though, are confident that their offer will eventually be accepted, since Spurs need the money to finance a move for Klaas-Jan Huntelaar or Peter Crouch.
