Official Transfer Arsenal Target £6m Midfielder, Two Centre Backs and Complete Chamakh Signing

Post by enigma Tue Mar 02, 2010 8:07 am

Arsenal are finalising a four-year deal with Bordeaux striker Marouane Chamakh, with chief executive Ivan Gazidis negotiating the Moroccan’s contract, so Arsene Wenger has at least secured one new signing for next season.

Chamakh is out of contract this summer so entitled to speak to Gazidis but the club are unlikely to announce it until the end of the season out of respect for Bordeaux. Chamakh has made little secret of the move.
‘I’ve dreamed of the Premier League since I was a little boy. I am ready to discover the experience for myself,’ he said last week.

With profits of £35.2million for the six months to November 2009 and debt cut by £129m, Arsenal fans are hoping Wenger will spend this summer. At least one centre-half will join, maybe two, if William Gallas does not agree a new contract. (Daily Mail)

Arsenal have outlined West Brom star Graham Dorrans as a summer transfer target, according to reports. A host of clubs including Newcastle United, Sunderland, Celtic and Manchester City have all been linked with a move for Dorrans, who has been one of the star performers in the Championship this season. Arsenal have been following the Scottish international closely and it is thought a bid in the region £6 million would be enough to secure the players services. Wenger is looking to add more depth to his squad after losing young Aaron Ramsey for the rest of this season after breaking his leg in a challenge with Stoke defender Ryan Shawcross. It is thought that the 22-year-old would favour a move to the Emirates in the summer, especially with Arsenal’s track record of developing young talent.
Dorrans made over 35 appearances for West Brom scoring eight goals since he completed his move to The Hawthorns in 2008. (Give Me Football – Official PFA Website)
